Jean-Louis Roule: The Alchemist of the Indian Ocean
From Science to the Shores of Rodrigues Island
Jean-Louis Roule spent decades building an illustrious career in France. There he developed an expertise in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. These experiences allowed him to perfect his craft: discovering, transforming, and showcasing active ingredients.
In the early 2000s, he chose the incredible natural beauty and vibrant culture that defines Mauritius as his home base. There, he created the Centre International de Développement Pharmaceutique (CIDC), an internationally recognized partner. Soon his gaze turned towards the Indian Ocean, rich in forgotten treasures: exceptional biodiversity, an immense African pharmacopoeia carrying within it stories that few people have taken the time to discover.

On the island of Rodrigues, Jean-Louis discovered simple, generous men, with a disarming authenticity, a raw and unspoiled land, and a fruit that exists nowhere else:
